Please contact Aussie Resumes and request the welcome pack be emailed to you.

I think I've found a spelling mistake on your site!

We use Australian / UK English as opposed to US English.  But if you do find an error on our site please tell us about it!! :-)

Some points of difference:

  • 'S' instead of 'Z'
Eg: utilise is the Australian / UK spelling, utilize is US spelling
Eg: analyse is the Australian / UK spelling, analyze is US spelling

  • Inclusion of 'U' in some words
Eg: colour is the Australian / UK spelling, color is US spelling
Eg: favour is the Australian / UK spelling, favor is US spelling

  • Inclusion of an additional 'L' in some words
Eg: panelled is the Australian / UK spelling, paneled is the US spelling

  • Exclusion of an 'L' in some instances
Eg: fulfil is the Australian / UK spelling, fulfill is the US spelling

  • Odds & Ends!
Eg: Enquiry is the Australian / UK spelling, Inquiry is US spelling
Eg: bank cheque is the Australian / UK spelling, bank check is US spelling
Eg: tyre is the Australian / UK spelling, tire is the US spelling

And so the list goes on.

Please note that for those clients seeking a position in the US or other country which primarily uses US spelling, then US spelling is default in all of the written material we provide to you.

How does the resume writing service work?

In brief:

  • Complete your questionnaire and return, along with your existing resume (if you have one).

  • As soon as your documentation is received your project is booked in.

  • Once all information has been collected, your writer carefully thinks about your situation, background, strengths, achievements and future goals; taking into consideration all aspects of your profession, the requirements of employers within your industry, and your existing career history.

  • Your writer then liaises with you via email and / or telephone for further information and / or clarification; asking you comprehensive questions to obtain relevant information and quantifiable achievements.

  • A draft is written and emailed to you for your review. The draft may include further requests for you to action (i.e. provision of additional info / etc)

Detailed information on the process and how it all works can be found on the relevant resume writing page applicable to your circumstance. Please visit:

You are located in South Australia. I'm not in your area. Can you still help me?

Yes.  The entire service is conducted via the Internet and telephone and fax when required.  Clients of Aussie Resumes are spread right around the globe. We offer a worldwide service.  The FAQ's directly below this question may be of help.

Do you offer a face-to-face service?

No.  Please read the answer directly above and below this question for an explanation.

How does it work by email / the Internet? What are the advantages?

The entire process is conducted via email.  Aussie Resumes has been offering a resume writing service purely via email / the Internet since 2001 (with total business experience in the Careers Industry spanning almost 17 years).

From experience, a quality outcome is achieved when the client has time to think through the questions asked.  The questions can be very thought provoking and require some time on your behalf in answering them.

To give you an indication, it can take a couple of hours in just reviewing your documentation, thinking about your situation and drafting questions to obtain additional information.  Then taking into consideration the time required by the client in answering the questions; something which, dependable on the level and profession, could very well take you up to several hours in answering.

Generally, people cannot think of relevant / pertinent / quantifiable information when asked a question "off the cuff".  It usually results in inaccurate or incomplete information, thus, resulting in a resume that doesn't have that "sizzle" to get you over the line.

The end result is only as good as the time the client wants to put into the whole process as we cannot read your mind to obtain the information required.

The email process also allows you to dedicate time in answering the questions at your own pace and when it suits you.

Furthermore, when the writer receives your information in writing, a clear record is available of all documentation and it leaves no room for error when trying to remember small details that may have been given over the telephone; particularly important when multiple projects and clients are being attended to.

If you wish to clarify a point or ask questions about anything to do with your project, then you are most welcome to telephone the office or email the writer direct.  However, all information for inclusion in the resume / job application must be received in writing.

I'm based outside of Australia and looking for positions within my own country. Can you still help me?

Yes.  We offer a world-wide service conducted via the Internet and email (please refer to the answer above for more information on this topic).

Please note that the requirements pertaining to your country of origin is taken into account when the application is drafted.  For instance, the US and UK market differs from the Australian / APAC market.  Furthermore, appropriate spelling is used based on your country preferences; for example US spelling if you are based in the US or applying for roles in the US.

I want more information on what's included with each package. Where can I get this?

I want to apply for a few different positions. Will the resume you write be okay for that?

This needs to be evaluated for each individual.

If, for instance, you are applying for a role as Sales Executive, and another role as Operations Manager, then you will need two different resumes.  Please click here to read an interesting article on this topic and find out why tailoring your application is so important.

If, for instance, you are applying for a role as General Manager in varying industries, then the one resume may suffice. But again, this needs to be evaluated for your particular circumstance.  Advice is generally given in various areas pertaining to your situation.

We recommend that once the first resume is complete, contact your writer for a quotation on a resume with a 2nd focus; or utilise the form provided in your Welcome Pack that you received upon ordering the service.

Why don't you have sample resumes on your site that you have written?

Below are some facts on why samples are not included on this site (please read them all!).

1) We provide a variety of styles and formats - you get to choose which style you like best.  There are just too many variations to put on the site. A sample indicates what you will receive, when in fact it is not the case at all! All resumes are individualised.

2) We write resumes for numerous professions.  It simply isn't possible to display a resume for each profession.

3) Sadly, there have been people who have plagiarised information - we're making it harder for these people.

4) We cannot display a client's resume - everything we do here at Aussie Résumés is highly confidential.

5) We believe this website is a testament to our writing abilities.  Additionally, the many testimonials you see on this site proves our track record of success.

6) If requested, we will provide you with a 'genuine referee' who can vouch for our work.  A previous client who is quite happy for you to telephone them about our quality of workmanship.  And we'll try to put you in contact with someone in the same industry.

If, after reading the above and talking to a client you would still like to view a sample of our work, then please contact and we will accommodate your request.

How soon do I get my completed resume?

Standard turnaround time is 5-8 working days from receipt of your initial information.  This is the first draft.  Final copy is dependent on you - i.e. when you email back changes for finalisation.

I need a resume FAST! Can I get my resume / job application sooner than your standard turnaround time?

If a booking is available (or other projects can be re-scheduled) you can upgrade to an express service.

An express service may incur an additional fee of $150.  This fee may be charged because you jump the queue and it entails additional and urgent work on behalf of the writer, such as after hours work and re-scheduling of other appointments / projects (amongst others).

If you need an URGENT service, please contact immediately for priority attention to your enquiry.

I don't know what pricing category I fall under (i.e. executive / management / professional / tradesperson / graduate pricing). Please clarify.

Graduate: You qualify for this discounted pricing structure if you left school or university in the last year (or are still studying), and you have held only one or two basic jobs which generally don't relate to your profession.  For instance, you may be a graduate accountant who has worked as a waitress.  If you have industry experience then you do not qualify for this discounted pricing structure simply because more time is spent on your resume, thus the higher fee is charged for professional.  So for instance, if you are a graduate accountant but you have work experience as an Admin Officer or Accounts Payable Officer, then you would be classified under our professional pricing structure.

Professional / Tradesperson: If you hold a managerial position you fall within our management fee structure (ordinarily irrespective of your profession - i.e. Office Manager falls within the management fee structure).  Generally, if one holds a team leadership role you qualify for the professional fee.  Highly specialised roles may fall within the management fee structure even if you do not hold management responsibility due to the additional time spent on the resume.

Management: If you hold a managerial role this fee applies to you. In a nutshell, you fall within this category if you hold management accountability (irrespective of the number of staff you manage) and are applying for management roles.  Some or all core competencies you may be fulfilling at Entry / Mid-level management include decision making responsibility, planning, results orientation and initiative, team leadership, workload management, and performance management (to name a few). If you hold a management position but you are applying for non-management roles you would be charged at the professional fee.

Executive: This service is for Top-Tier Leaders within either the private or public sector.  If you hold a leadership position but wish to transition your career away from management / leadership roles, then you would be charged at the professional category.  Indicative of some job titles at this level: CEO, CIO, CFO, President, Vice-President, Director, General Manager, Managing Director, Operations Manager, Marketing Director, Human Resources Director (to name a few). In a nutshell, you fall within this category if you hold a position of leadership and authority (irrespective of the number of staff you manage).  Some or all core competencies you may be fulfilling at executive level include decision making accountability, interpersonal influence, operational leadership, performance leadership, innovation, organisational and political awareness, results focused (to name a few).

Pricing is left to the sole discretion of Aussie Résumés.  If you have chosen the wrong pricing structure you will be advised by email or telephone before we proceed further with your project.  View Terms and Conditions relating to this.

If you are still unsure you can contact Aussie Résumés to request a quote / gain further clarification.

What happens if I order the wrong package?

If, upon receipt and review of your initial documentation it is clear that you have chosen the wrong service applicable to your job level (i.e. executive, management, professional, tradesperson, graduate), you will be notified of the oversight on your behalf before work commences on your project and written consent will be required from you for authorisation for Aussie Resumes to charge you the additional fee and / or reimburse an overcharge you have made.

Please view Terms and Conditions relating to this.

Do you have guarantees?

Yes. Please visit the Satisfaction Guarantee section on our website.

What are the terms and conditions associated with this service?

 Please click here.

Will my resume be compatible with what employers want?

Yes, it will.  You are provided with various formats - Word, RTF format, PDF and ASCII.  However, most employers will request a copy in Word format.

Do I get a hard copy of my resume sent to me?

When ordering the service you can opt to have hard copies posted to you.

Alternatively, it's simply a matter of printing a copy from your machine when you need it.  Most employers request applications to be emailed.  But on the occasion when you do need to post a copy you can print at your own convenience; using whatever paper you please.

You did my resume years ago and it needs updating with my new job details. How do I do this and how long does it take?

We provide an updating service.  The turnaround and fee is dependable on the extent of changes required.  Please contact for a prompt reply.
