"I applied for five jobs and received offers for all of them! Some even offered me the job straight after the interview. They all commented on my impressive resume. Having a professional resume gave me the confidence I needed to perform well in the interview process. For the first time in my life I actually enjoyed attending interviews."

Get Hired Sooner & Increase Your Income
By Marketing What You're Worth

From: Aussie Resumes, 3.25pm

Dear Job Seeker,

Consider that you have put together your own application - 9 times out of 10, applicants do not market themselves correctly or provide an application in-line with an employer's requirements.

The sad truth is that the vast majority of applicants do themselves an injustice.  And we hear this straight from recruiters!

Job seekers are extremely good at what they do in their career, but when it comes to marketing themselves they fall short.

We don't make those claims lightly!

Below are some employer comments from the Aussie Resumes Employer Survey:

“This is a selling document. It must give me enough knowledge to make an interview seem worthwhile.”

         and

“The more professional the resume the greater appeal to me as the job provider. I generally give each resume 2 minutes of my time. It's a very short window of opportunity.”

(You can view more by accessing the Free Stuff link at the left of this page.)

Okay.

Let us assume you have submitted applications for 5 vacancies within your field of expertise and 3 or 4 weeks down the track you have only received an interview for 1 of the vacancies.  Does this sound familiar?

You start the cycle again of submitting your application; another 3-4 weeks go by.

Now let us assume that you have either:

a) Armed yourself with the right knowledge to write a great resume (you can find insider tips and secrets, plus templates, in our software products - just click the appropriate link at the top of this page); or

b) You have submitted a professionally written resume and cover letter that markets your true worth and knocks the socks off the recruiter.

In fact, you've blown your competition out of the water; simply because your professional application contains the right balance of marketable information and clearly demonstrates, in a no-nonsense, easy-to-read manner, exactly what you can bring to that organisation.

(Actually, we "borrowed" some of those words from a client who is one of our raving fans - this is what he had to say: "Tight, focused, professional, no-nonsense approach where you know that from the go you are receiving a top service that will impress the reader of your CV."  Patrick Horneman.)

So here you have it.  You've submitted your marketable application and the recruiter is thinking, "I'm crazy if I don't give this person an interview!"

Instead of the 1 interview you may have been called in for when you were writing your own applications, now you get 3 interviews for the 5 positions you applied for; possibly interviews for all 5!

(This truly does happen to clients of Aussie Resumes! As Melissa wrote: "I applied for five jobs and received offers for all of them! Some even offered me the job straight after the interview. They all commented on my impressive resume. Having a professional resume gave me the confidence I needed to perform well in the interview process. Suddenly, you are presented with an opportunity to choose which role you like the best.

The more interviews you get, the greater chance you have of obtaining a position in a shorter time period.

So, in this scenario outlined above, not only are you able to choose, but you have secured a position within 2 or 3 weeks, instead of the 6-8 + weeks if you were writing your own applications.

You have fast tracked your career!

Let us assume a little further.

What if the position you were able to gain in 2 or 3 weeks was worth, hypothetically, $80k per annum?  What if the position you were able to gain in 6 or 8 weeks was only worth $60k per annum?

So to recap. The more interviews, the greater choice you have - including salary!

This scenario doesn't even take into consideration the salary you lost over that additional time you were still job hunting... what is that costing you?

What we are suggesting here isn't scare mongering, just plain common sense.

You wouldn't expect anyone to walk straight into your role and perform at the same level you do with no prior experience; so why would you try to undertake the role of a Marketing Extraordinaire and Résumé Writer with no knowledge or experience?

A marketable document will fast track your career.  The benefits you reap will far outweigh the small investment you make at the beginning of your job hunting journey.

Why not work out a return on your investment (ROI)? You will be pleasantly surprised.
