I just want to let you know how your resume landed me a job I never thought I could have. Not in a million years! I secured 10 interviews with 31 applications sent in 6 days. Closing dates for some of the applications I have sent have not even closed as yet. I have had a busy week, I have had 3 phone interviews, and have done 4 face to face interviews this week, and have another 3 next week. However, I don’t need them anymore; I applied for a job as a Customer Service Representative for a building company. At the interview, he was impressed with the resume – how factual and well written it was. When I went back to the employer for the second interview, he offered me NOT the Customer Service role, but a newly created role just for me! When one’s age is 50 plus most industries have a prejudice against employing the aged. I had a few responses, but nothing particularly interesting, so settled back into my happy little rut… I was given the project of co-ordinating the XXX move to another new building in Melbourne’s CBD and, over the past six months work tirelessly in order to effect this move with very few problems or issues – so tirelessly, that after eight weeks with no weekends, 50 hours of flex-time and 70 hours of overtime, I was so tired and exhausted that I fell quite ill. This was around five weeks ago.
Anyway, four weeks ago – totally out of the blue – I received a call from a recruitment consultant who, unbeknownst to myself, had a copy of the CV I’d sent out all those months ago. He had a position that he’d been trying to fill for three months or so, and after 70-odd applicants had reached my CV… He asked if I was still happy at the XXX, which I was, and followed up by asking how much money I’d consider as an incentive to move on. I told him I wasn’t really looking, but when he suggested this position would pay somewhere around $XXk I thought I’d have a look.
The next week I met with the Vic/SA/WA HR manager for CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) and, the following day, the account manager for CBRE’s national property management account for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu – one of the Big Four!! By the time I arrived home from this second meeting I had been offered the position of Facilities Manager, Global Corporate Services, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu; on a package that I negotiated up to $XXk!!
All this on the strength of a 16 month old CV, and two meetings (whilst suffering terribly with a gastric ulcer!)!! As I write this, I’m on two weeks break before starting at Deloitte on 23 June 2008. This has all happened so suddenly that it still hasn’t sunk in, but I have NO doubt in my mind that none of this would have been possible without your service. It was definitely money well spent!

I tried to put all this information that I thought would be relevant, but the document just bloated and lacked style. And then I put all this stuff in tables and summaries and it became unreadable.
